I spent about an hour looking for a picture that I had no idea what it was or who it was by. Amazingly enough I found it. For some reason, my dad is crazy about this picture. It has something to do with the realistic looking feet...who knows. You owe me Shellie!

I'm an Uncle

So today is my parents' wedding anniversary, but everyone seemed to forget that today. More importantly, Chloe Grace came to this world. Unfortunately, everyone back home is about 10 years behind on technology, so at this moment there are no pictures, but I will get them up as soon as I can. Congratulations Amy and Mom & Dad.

65 lbs

I have a problem, I pack like a girl. I weighed my bag that I plan on taking home and it is 65 lbs (the limit is 50 lbs). It is for the whole christmas break, so I guess I could leave some stuff in my car while I'm in CB.

The Grind...

It has been FOREVER since I've had some free time to waste on this blog. Basketball has been a little rough as of late. We're 4-5, with losses to NC ST, UNCG, Western Carolina, JMU, and the latest, Michigan. An embarassing loss today, ended what would have been a pretty fun trip. I had a good time at the Pistons/Knicks game and hanging out with the Piston Girls. Seeing snow for the first time in about a year and a half was nice. Unfortunately, the snow kept me away from my sisters, who were willing to drive all the way to Michigan to watch us. Also, a couple assistant coaches from HS were blocked from coming to Michigan by the big storm.

On a high note, one more week of classes. I get to come home in 19 days!!! Nothing like going back home for the holidays!

Congrats!

Congratulations to the St. Albert Falcons and their accomplishments of their Championship season. The State Champions knocked off Montezuma, 21-14.

Bad Way to Start

I went to the doc today, broken left thumb. Don't exactly know how it happened, just pushed off on a guy and it bent weird. I'm still playing, just have a plastic splint on it, kinda bulky, but hey...when was the last time I used my left hand? Stay posted, I might be able to have a password for any of you who would like to watch our game online.

And it begins...

The next four months are going to be very hectic. We begin our season on Friday at NC State. We're heading up tomorrow where my parents will be waiting for me! I haven't seen them since the middle of the summer. NC State is definitely beatable, they have a few injuries and are down to just about 6 guys that play, one being a walk-on. If we run them up and down the court, we have a legitament chance to get our first win of the season. If you are bored on Friday night, go to www.espn1400am.com at 7pm EST and listen to the game. Go Terriers!

Lisa and I chose to celebrate the spirit of Halloween by carving pumpkins. Thought you would enjoy seeing them. Lisa's is on the left and mine is on the right. If you recognize the creepy face, it's because it's Jigsaw from the movie Saw. Happy Halloween!

All in a Days Work

We had our first scrimmage this past weekend at Winthrop University. It went ok, nothing special until about 9 minutes left in the last half. We were on offense and the ball was coming off the rim towards our bench. I hustled after the ball and jumped and turned in the air to save the ball...
I landed in a puddle of water near the water cooler, slipped and fell. While falling, I kicked the cart that was holding the water cooler which caused the cooler to fall off the cart. As the cooler hit the floor, the lid fell off, causing the water to spill all over myself as well as the court.
It took twenty minutes for the workers to get the water cleaned up and the floor dry. The rest of the game, I got to sit the bench cold as hell, in a dripping wet uniform. No serious injuries, just a really deep knee bruise that hurts like hell.

Parentless Parents Weekend

Its kind of a lonely feeling on Parents Weekend when none of your parents show up. Everyone is walking around campus showing off their new room and their parents taking them out to dinner, while I'm one of 10 people on campus who eat in the cafeteria. I had to clean MY room so my rommates parents wouldn't see the mess we have made for the past two months. Feel sorry for me, especially for those whose parents have ever visited them on parents weekend (possibly during one of their siblings most outstanding high school performances).

Cheater!

Cameras get the dirt on Rogers' hand

The Detroit Tigers pitcher, Kenny Rogers, not the singer, was caught in the first inning by Fox camera crews with a "foreign substance" on his pitching hand. It was ridiculous that the umpires didn't catch this until after the first inning, let alone they allowed him to pitch the rest of the game.
The article linked above explains that the rules of the game "forbids the pitcher to have on his person, or in his possession, any foreign substance. For such infraction of this section (b) the penalty shall be immediate ejection from the game." I don't see why it was even a question to keep him in the game, he should have been automatically ejected once it was noticed. It didn't help that the game was at Detroit. He whined his way out saying it was dirt, but last time I saw dirt, it wasn't that shiny! I'm glad to see that the Cardinals are in it to win it, FAIRLY!!!

Toilet Fiasco

It's a wonderful feeling to wake up and see that your bathroom has an inch of standing water in it. On Thursday afternoon, I made a call to maintenance to report that our toilet was not flushing. They came later that day to "fix" it, but didn't do a damn thing, so I again made a call and reported that our toilet still didn't flush. They came back and actually fixed the problem...sorta. Yes, the toilet flushed, but we found out Saturday morning that the pipes on the toilet were not tightened by maintenance causing a rather large leak. The third call brought an emergency plumber to our room as well as a promise from maintenance that they would clean up the water. At 11 pm on Saturday night, the cleaning was finished, thanks to the roommates help, NOT maintenance. All in all, we are out two carpets (the one in the bathroom and one in the living area of the suite mate's room), 11 towels, 5 t-shirts, 7 rolls of toilet paper, and a wasted Saturday afternoon!

NLCS Champions

The St. Louis Cardinals reached the World Series through a 7 game series over the NY Mets. A world championship is in their eyes, but must get through a tough Detroit team. During the season Detroit swept the Cards during their 3 game meeting. Can they pull this out and be the first to bring home the World Championship Trophy since 1982? Go Cards!

Ahhh....Ace!

As of October 18, Lisa leads the Southern Conference in service aces with 0.65 aces per game. Good job Lisa!

On another note, Apple has found a way to attack Window users. A virus was found in a few video iPods and only affects Windows. How convenient that it didn't affect any Apple computers.

The Perfect Snack

Two nights ago, Lisa and I were in Wal-Mart and noticed a bright blue bag that caught our eyes. Could it be...another new flavor of Doritos? It most definitely was!

After the release of the amazing Black Pepper Jack Doritos I didn't think they could out do themselves. Boy was I wrong. The new Blazin' Buffalo & Ranch Doritos put a taste in your mouth that you will not soon forget. It tastes like the real thing, but without the mess, how perfect!

Loser Weekend

Tough weekend for sports. A few losses for the Wofford Terriers as the volleyball team lost two and the football team lost a tough one to #2 ranked App. St., 14-7. The BIG loss was the Hawkeyes losing to an embarassing Indiana football team.

Tonight will be the third practice of the year. Already having two guys down to injury are making some people wonder, is this going to be another year of some disappointing injuries? It better not be!

Lazy Friday

Its wonderful to be able to sleep in once in awhile. The beginning of the end starts today. Tonight will be the last first practice of my career...kinda weird to think that.

A big weekend for the volleyball team as well, hosting two conference games. Two big wins in store for the women Terriers. Also, this weekend will be Lisa's first game back from being sidelined for two weeks. Good luck ladies!

First Timer

The is my first time "blogging." I owe it all to the man who inspired me, J-Frav.

Today is the beginning of Fall Break. What a great way to ruin Fall Break by having the first day of practice tomorrow. It's going to be really long and boring, but the Freshmen have to learn EVERYTHING in 3 weeks.
